The Project

At MGM Grand, the lush Connecticut countryside is part of the design magic, leading the design team to throw open the doors and let the outside in. The team focused intently on the natural surroundings in the sophisticated design of the hotel and casino. The casino's plush nightclub (Shrine), upscale restaurants (Craftsteak and Alta Strada), casual family eatery (Junior's) and convention meeting spaces and ballroom all have been designed with outdoor terraces and patios for alfresco entertaining with majestic views of the woods encircling Foxwoods and the hotel's fan-shaped outdoor swimming pool.

Panoramic views of the scenic landscape are offered from most of the 825 guest rooms and suites in the glass tower. Select suites feature bathtubs with a window looking out onto the treetops. Playing off nature themes, hotel guestrooms sport colors of calming blues and browns with contemporary furnishings, marble bathrooms and accents of clean, natural wood. Circular patterns in the carpets represent patterns of water droplets landing on a lake.
