The Project

Organized with strong linear elements that capture the dynamic nature of horse racing, this multi-phase casino expansion and renovation integrates the best of racing and casino gaming into a year-round entertainment venue in one of America's most historic, and infamous, tourist destinations, Hot Springs, also known as 'The Spa City – America’s First Resort'. All design references in the casino expansion produce a subtle hint of the rich 100-year horse racing heritage at Oaklawn using abstract design themes as the catalyst for renewed discovery.

Inside, guests experience complex geometry and shape that seamlessly merges traditional and contemporary color and detailing, dramatic directional ceiling planes and illuminated materials such as back-lit onyx design features. All are examples of innovative design solutions for a simplex box shape.
