The Project

Located on Paseo de la Reforma, Sofitel Mexico City Reforma, The Sofitel Mexico City is the first luxury hotel to open in Mexico City in more than a decade. Drawing inspiration from the Sofitel brand’s French roots, as well as the rich culture and history of Mexico City, the design team created an immersive experience for hotel guests and local visitors alike highlighting the vibrant Mexican culture within a chic, French context.

The hotel neighbors the iconic Angel of Independence monument, and guests are welcomed by surrounding views of the Mexico City skyline from the 14th floor lobby. The design team drew inspiration from a 35-millimeter film reel to conceive the geometric look of the sculptural staircase. Ascending the tower, the Sofitel Mexico City Reforma's 219 Superior and Luxury guest rooms and 56 suites are located on the 15th through 37th floors.
