The Project

Located in the heart of the entertainment and sports district on the west side of the Phoenix metropolitan area, the new Desert Diamond West Valley Casino is developed around the core concept of a truly distinct casino and entertainment experience, which will grow to become a world class destination resort. The design of the new Desert Diamond West Valley Casino is derived from the design team’s inspirational concept of the Dynamic Earth, a unique interpretation of the desert’s abundance, significant to the Tohono O’odham Nation.

Its signature arching roof line gracefully beckon guests from nearby interstate toward the spacious and exciting experience to be found within. In concert with the sweeping curvilinear forms and stunning arrangement of casino and landscape environments, the architecture of the casino connects with the surrounding desert landscape. On the 75,000 square foot gaming floor, the arching canopy is animated with vibrant, ever-changing ambient light recalling the desert’s endless sky. Innovative audio-visual and lighting technology animate the illuminated overhead fins and the vibrant two-story Rock Bar with movement and excitement inspired by the fractal energy of the desert during a powerful monsoon thunderstorm. Together, the bar cladding and ceiling fins energize the casino with a sparkling, vigorous light and music show whenever a jackpot is hit.
