Sycuan Casino Resort in Dehesa has been awarded the coveted Four Diamond rating from the Automobile Club of Southern California.

The award, announced Thursday, follows completion earlier this year of a $260 million expansion, which included a 12-story luxury hotel tower with over 300 guest rooms and 57 suites.

“The AAA rating system has set the standard in hospitality for several decades,” said John Dinius, general manager of the resort. “Receiving the AAA Four Diamond rating for our new hotel is an incredible honor and we are thrilled to be recognized for our artistic and detailed design, variety of new amenities and superior level of guest service.”

According to AAA, a Four Diamond rating indicates an establishment that is upscale in all areas. This includes signature décor and furniture, full-service restaurants, impressive architectural features, extensive amenities and a high degree of hospitality, service and attention to detail.

“To reach the exceptional standards required for the AAA Four Diamond rating is an outstanding achievement,” said Patricia Marenco, the auto club’s supervisor of approved accommodations. “AAA Four Diamond establishments are attentive to guests needs and consistently deliver memorable travel experiences.”

There are 24 other Four Diamond hotels and resorts in San Diego County, including lodgings at the Barona, Pala and Viejas casinos.
